Best build? I really like how this turned out. All my NHP buddies say I got it dead on.
Lots of scratch built equipment.
Favorite? Oh hell, I like them all. This one though gave me great satisfaction. Scratchbuilding the equipment and modifying the kit really made for a splendid presentation. This was one I wanted for my collection so I just went and built it. I surprised myself with this one!
Missed this until now. Best and fav? That’s tough. What day of the week is it? Seems I change my mind on those all the time. A lot that I am very happy with and have “best” qualities like a technique tried for the 1st time and went well, that sort of thing.
I can tell you the model that means the most to me. In terms of it being one of the best researched and as close to dead on accurate given that “model is a snapshot of time’ thingy, it has to be the M1A1 Abrams commanded by then Lt. Col. Eric “Rick” Schwartz. He led the 1st “Thunder Run” into Baghdad in 2003 to take the city. It was part of a group build to have the models put into a museum at Fort Stewart in GA, the battalions home base. What made it special was the comments he made about the model, the GB and to me. The irony was that he felt honored in the tribute when it was I that was honored to be able to pay tribute to the real heroes.
The last photo is of Col. Schwartz, Ret. Looking at my model of his vehicle.

It's always tough to pick from among your 'babies', but here goes. I'd say this one is probably my best, it's not a huge vehicle but I went all-out on the interior and placed it in a vignette setting to add a little more 'character' to it and did a lot of things with it that I don't normally do to pull it all together.
As for my favorite, that's a much tougher choice, as I have several. Instead, I'll go with the one I had the most fun with in recent memory and that's Tamiya's 1/48 Corsair as it brought back a lot of childhood memories watching Black Sheep Squadron on TV!
