Wing Nut Now that is small!!! Hats off to you, I don't think I could do it!! I went to my first ever model club meeting a few weeks ago and the guy sitting next to me was working on some 144th F86 Sabre resin kits of for a review and spent most of the evening masking the cockpit with the kit supplied masking kit - I have absolutely NO idea how he did. And I have NO idea how you're doing this! Well done. Andrew

Wing, that's too tiny for my comprehension. Can't wait to see you take on the weathering. I'm working on a 1/144 tomcat and PE never crossed my mind in that scale. Wishing your eyes a quick recovery!

Rick, Bob... wish I could say it took the 4 days since you fellas commented before I could see my keyboard again but I can't Thanks for stopping by. I've been playing around withy a technique seen on Plastic Pix used Wally in a post back in late Dec. Link below. He's done a great job of capturing the subtle tonal various in the NMF that just aren't there in Alclad etc. www.network54.com/Forum/47751/thread/1482825706Since I've lost one nose cone and broken one windscreen I've only got parts to finish one diminutive MiG. Decided to use the other airframe as a test for the buffed Tamiya Silver Leaf finish and I am not at all unhappy. It's shiny enough the decals didn't need a clear coat and the sheen on the details are almost an exact match for the sheen of the "metal". Wally also figured out how to photograph the models so you can see the effect. It's there on the MiG but it just doesn't show well in my photo. May be due to the teeny size

Did you ever notice the things we do are sometimes twofold? Achieving the desired result and redefining "Tedious". I know I've done the latter ... the next coat of Silver Leaf will go to the former.

Thanks Dierk. I would have responded yesterday but I kept walking into the walls More Silver Leaf and some hand applied MM Metalizers and rebuffed

I'd heard that people who stare at goats sometimes try to walk through walls - didn't know the same applies to builders of tiny MIGs Stunning paint!

I would get mad at this project when the little PE bits went flying and I spent more time looking for them than doing any actual building.
Looks great Wingy!
