Hi Dierk!
Great work! I didn't know Metallic detail also made a PE set for the PE-2.

Cheers gents! This wingy malarkey is growing on me. Hi Dierk! Great work! I didn't know Metallic detail also made a PE set for the PE-2. Welcome Remco! I didn't either - stumbled across it during an ebay search. Most of it is very good, but some parts are unuseable, like the radiator covers which are too big.

Looks good. And no doubt, you did not overdo the weathering.

Dierk, been absent a while but wow, I'm really impressed. First with your work and second because of the detail in the kit itself. Every kit I've had from this maker went into the sale pile or trash before I even started it. This looks really awesome. Great work.

Yes, Zvezda has come a long way in the last couple of years. Quality-wise they are now knocking on the door of the big boys, thankfully not reflected in the cost of the kits.

I hope Zvezda makes a 1/48 Yak-1/7/9 family of fighters. Their Lavochkin 5 series is also very good. A new laGG-3 and Lavochkin 7 is also very welcome...

Everything went mostly fine up to the point where I added the muck from the exhausts...ended up totally overdone I'll have to put my thinking cap on to find a solution - it'd be easy if it was just a single colour camo. Seriously gents: I could puke ...

Bad news on the exhaust muck Dierk! You'll get it sorted and fixed.

Maybe Leon's confidence wasn't too misplaced after all: managed to get most of the 'zorst muck off by soaking a Qtip in AB cleaner and wiping - it did also remove most of the weathering, but left the camo paint intact.

Creation by mistake mate. More like 'occupational therapy' Nearly ready to show you pictures of the three mechanics, but got a busy few days of RL to deal with first.

Hi mate
Sorry I'm very late to the 'recent' updates on this but life and a holiday has got in the way of all things model related.
I've got to say I love the work you've done so far and the finish is looking great when compared to that WW2 photo you posted.
As the others have said the B&W photo looks great too.
Keep at it and I'm looking forward to seeing this finished!
