Update. The ship primed and some panels sprayed with purple, the areas are masked before the base colour was added   The stand I have painted with Alclad mirror gold once with and without flash photographed.   The mirror effect I have made only weak, here I still have to practice. |

Interesting point...
It has me thinking, while "weathering" may not be appropriate to something that lives in space, perhaps it might look good if you used that "dot filter" technique (which I haven't tried myself yet) to put some variation into the large blocks of solid colour; perhaps streaking oriented lengthwise along the hull would look good, rather than from top to bottom as is done with tanks and ships .
