Leon, Thank you kindly as always for your support. Panzerjager2, Thank you for the compliment my good man. Wing Nut, Thank you kindly and, glad to have you along. The IP is installed. I'm opting to apply the decal instruments after the install. Given what I'm doing with it, it should be easier. A bit of a tedious session at the bench. I added the backsides of the instruments. I found my über fine copper wire and wired the backside of the IP. Here's with the pilots seat dry fitted. Awfully cramped looking in there. The pilots station is going to get some more attention. It turns out there is some "winged" armor that should be up by the shoulders.

Hell's Bells, is this 1/48th or 1/72nd. From the pictures it looks teeny tiny. But when you build 1/25th it all looks small by comparison. More fan-dang-tastic work...very inspiring

A good day for some progress on the -17Z. The magazine rack behind the pilot was built in short order. Some artistic license was used as I could not find a really clear picture of it. After the rack dried for a bit, the interior got shot with Vallejo Black Primer. Here's the initial base coat of Vallejo RLM 02 An assembled wing. Pretty basic

Good evening everyone. Leon, Thank you very much my good man. Joelsmith, Thank you for the compliment. Andy, Thaaaaaaank you! There was a good bit of progress today. Lots of color applied and, one of those really big steps in aircraft modeling.... First.... I finished assembling the engines this evening. Well, the gross assembly. There is more detail to go....like plumbing and wiring the engines. The exhaust stacks are drilled out. I really wanted to build them with a later exhaust system but, I wanted something from the Battle of Britain. Thought there was a later one with a white distemper finish...I've never built an aircraft with a white distemper. Next time....Perhaps a Ju-88.... Putting some final touches on the pilots station. A lot of interior color was applied this evening. The pilots station sans seat. Rear gunners station. The starboard side of the CP prior to pin washes and highlighting. Finally, that pivotal moment in aircraft modeling....the joining of the fuselage. The instruments are a two piece decal. They seemed to snug right down with the Solvaset.

Dierk, Thank you for the compliment mate. Leon, Done slinging color for now. Thank you as always for having a gander and for the compliment. Andrew, Thank you my good man. No worries about being late. Around this household, you'd be considered ahead of time. PJ2, Thank you for the compliment buddy. Andy, Thank you my friend. And no! You may not sit in them. Bill, Hello there my good man. Thank you After mounting the auxiliary fuel tank I mounted the wings and empennage. It was almost a three handed affair to pull it off mounting the wings. . This is looking at the auxiliary fuel tank in the forward bomb bay. Here you are looking forward. The pulleys are for actuating the bomb bay doors. I used EZ Line for the cable. The smaller pulley was fabricated from punching some disks. The nut was punched from styrene. I'm using my Rosie the Riveter sets for the rivet lines. Two horizontal stabilizers down....one plane to go. This here is my assistant Cooper. He'll come out to the garage and sit patiently by my side waiting to be petted. He does not nudge me when I'm working.

Good evening y'all Leon, Thank you buddy for the compliment. Andy, Thank you. You're gonna love the Riveters. I riveted the rest of the plane today after filling and sanding the imperfections. PJ2, Thank you kindly buddy. Cooper is a brute. That pic is one of the few times he's sat still long enough for me to get a pic of him. Twas a productive day today. Mostly filling of imperfections with Bondo and Vallejo Plastic putty. There was a bit of a step behind the CP where the upper surface of the wing joined the fuselage. This may have come about because I was more concerned with the fit of the lower surface of the wing joining the fuselage. As you can see the nacelles and bearers are now mounted. I have riveted the rest of the plane....unfortunately, I could not get a good pic of the effect. The aft bomb bay was outfitted with racks and ordinance.

Good evening everyone. Dierk Thank you kindly for the compliment. Marc Thank you very much my good man. Another nice bit of progress today. The landing gear are installed and the "Fliegenbleistift" is now standing on its own. The rear support struts that attach to the main landing gear had an incorrect angle to them. I'm not sure what happened there but, it was an easy fix. They only have three attachment points to the rear bulkhead of the main wheel well. I cut the middle attachment point with a chisel and bent them down at the two remaining attachment points.....problem solved. I got the forward lower glazings mounted. For this I used a foam safe CA glue. This, as it turns out, is safe for use with clear plastic as it does not fog it. The neat thing is that it also has a gap filling quality to it. The bomb bay doors are only dry fitted. They still need a wee bit of tweaking. The CP just keeps getting cozier and cozier.
