Nice progress Russ! Nice work with the oils Russ! I still have'nt gotten the nerve to try them yet. Go for it Leon - it's one of the few techniques that is virtually risk-free: if you're not happy with the result just remove it again. The biggest danger is coming up with a result you're really happy with and not remembering quite how you did it

Thanks all. I'm now looking at what kind of numbers/markings to do, will probably use the big white band around the turret.

Progress: markings on, "Berlin" stripe on, flat and washes done. Now down to a wee bit of staining, maybe a chip or two, and possibly a tow cable. I had to go over all the white numbers (Tamiya kit decals) with a brush as they were not totally opaque, and I wanted a hand painted look, so why not. The big white stripe was also brushed on, just like da real thang. Finished yesterday. I decided to leave the antenna off, as only about one in four of the tanks I found in pics had one, and I also left any glass out of the headlight, same reason. For grins, I took a couple of pics on my generic one-size-fits-all European base, an old Verlinden part. You're going to need another base because it was meant for this one Russ, the colors blend so well. Fine as frog hair sir Tony lee

Nice result Russ! Personally, I'd have given the running surfaces of the tracks more shine. Good choice leaving the antenna off, as 432 didn't have one.

I like the second to last pic. Just about ready to cross the tracks with the barrel pointed down the tracks, as if to say, "Oh yeah! What are you gonna do about it!"

Really nice build Russ. I think you nailed it.
And I agree with other comments - that base and that tank were meant for one another. They are soul mates! 🤣

T'anks all! I have to agree, this model on this base are like peanut butter and jelly. I may have t o do some additions to the base to really solidify things. Dierk, I was thinking that by the time the Sovs were running loose in Downtown Berlin, the trains had ceased to run on time. Originally, I had a very late prod T-34/85 on this base, so same time period. Given that, I have seen pics of Soviet tanks pushing trams off tracks, so maybe I could add some shine to the rail tops.

Crossed wires mate - I didn't mean the train/tram tracks, but the tank tracks

Just caught up with your build, Russ. This thing is looking really good. The hand painted stripes and numbers look great, also like the white bear. Everybody is correct, that base is outstanding with that tank.

Thanks! It still sits as last pictured, but I am gathering small bits to use as clutter on the base. Thinking about a couple of Sov infantry figs as well, peeking around the corner of the ruins.
