Muffler on St. Chamond

I am looking to build this particular St. Chamond Tank. My question is with the muffler on this tank. Is it missing its muffler and the exhaust pipes were left sticking up or is this a specific modification?  From the picture the exhaust pipe extension is still intact and looks that is was just reconnected to the rear exhaust pipe.

From what I can find, it looks like the muffler was removed for some reason. According to the "Char Francais" website - www.chars-francais.net/2015/index.php - all models of this tank originally came with a muffler.

It's a shame you can't read the numbers better to find out exactly which tank it is.

Thank You afvan. The missing muffler was what I was thinking, but I couldn't find any definitive answer on my own. I actually have the link that gives you the combat history, pictures and other information of action. From the information on the website the muffler is probably lost during the action that day, but it does not say definitely and could have been lost in earlier action and never replaced with a new muffler.
