Bill Thank you for the compliment my good man. Those CPs are snug. I fail to see how my 6'1" 235lb frame would even begin to fit in the 1:1 version. Bob Good morning brother and thank you. Why yes it is. Color laid down today. Marc Yup. Only once this time. I won't tell you how many times I've done it on other builds in the past.....The bomb rack has four separate sway braces. I lost the first one 5 times. I found it through sheer determination. The last one....the concrete monster ate it. Vallejo Black Primer went on last evening. Including for the SC 250 bomb. The fins and braces are only supplied as PE parts. I marbled the primer this am with Vallejo Grey primer. Theater markings are done. I sprayed them with Vallejo RLM 04. I included this shot to show the detail on the zippered wheel well liners. The wrinkles are a nice touch. The over spray that crept in....not so nice a touch.

Nice Paint job. Those wheel well liners look great, nice touch for the kit. You know that one wrinkle is .0001 mm too short. LOL

Good morning JPC1968, Thank you kindly for the compliment. 0.0001 mm too short? Damn! I measured 0.00012 mm too short. I was kinda hoping no one would notice. Wrong crowd to try and play that with..... The rest of the top side camo was completed yesterday. I even got to play with some decals. These were the last two decals I laid down last night before laying myself down for the night. The decals are the usual that come with Eduards kits. Very thin, very durable and they snuggle right down to the surface. The mottling on the sides was free hand with the airbrush. I couldn't resist placing this decal last night. The nice things I said about the decals all holds true. The caveat is this, get them as close as you can to where you want them, as floating them can get tricky. Remember the mention of how thin they are? Watch out for the corners if you have to float them as I did. If they roll under, take a deep breath and slowly work the problem. The walkway decal was actually the easiest to float into position. Ironic, since it's usually one of my least favorite decals to place. All decals were placed first using Microscale setting solution and Walthers Solvaset

Really nice "mottling"! I think I am going to have to send my airbrush back to Badger for a overhaul if I want to spray like yours.

Inspiring work - despite the crease that's too short May I ask what paint you used for the 'grey-violet' RLM something-or-other?

Good morning everyone. Joelsmith, Thank you. How old is your AB? Dierk, Thank you very much. Despite the short crease, my therapist says that after 20 years I am making progress. Here is what I used for the Grey-Violet. JPC1968, And a fine build it is. Thank you for the info. All of the decals were completed yesterday. A couple folded over on themselves a couple of times. Remember what I said about them being very thin? It looks like all of the puzzles I ever worked on and, the anger management classes have paid off. You can see the sheen of the carrier film here. I'll be shooting a clear coat today to remedy that. The tail is now mounted. The ship munching fox is a 10. (Jabo) Stafflel badge. They were attached to JG2 All of the wee decals included in the kit.

TRM Thank you kindly my friend. Wait no longer....weathering has started. I am not sure if I'm done or not. So, I decided it was a good time to break away and come back to it with fresh eyes. I hit the bottom side with various Vallejo Effects and washes. The dusty/dirty effect you see on the bottom side toward the aft end was European dust airbrushed at 5-8psi in multiple light passes. Exhaust staining was with three different Vallejo washes airbrushed. Here we have some oil and fuel staining. These last two show the Matt clear coat applied. I left it off certain areas to let the effects show.

looks mighty sweet!!!
I have the Zvezda BF 109F-4 kit, working in progress (for the relaxation and getting familiar with German aircraft). But the Eduard kit looks pretty good to! I hope Eduard is redoing the E type soon!

Looking good! Do the kit instructions say anything about these "kill" markings? I'm just wondering if the white (vs black) portions indicate a "percentage of kill" or if it's just randomly black and white on each ship silhouette.

Great job Dave. Did the kit come with the antenna wire or did you use stretched sprue? I was thinking about adding it to my kit.

Leon, Thank you my friend. Read on.... 4bogreen, It was a fun kit to build. IMHO, well engineered and nicely detailed. Dupes, Thank you kindly my good man. Funny you ask about that, I have been trying to find out about those markings. So far...nada. But 10 Jabo did sink a fair bit of shipping tonnage. JPC1968, Thank you very much buddy. I have taken to using EZ Line. Model railroaders use it for telephone/graph lines. It is quite elastic so, if you have paws like mine and, snag it absentmindedly, it will stretch long before it breaks. Bob, Thank you as always my brother. Always glad to have your eyes for back up. Well everyone, I am calling this one done. It was a fun kit to build and IMHO, well engineered with very nice details. There are a few things I'd do differently (I've a few of Eduards 109s in the stash). One, is attach the bomb first and then attach the sway braces. They way is is laid out in the instructions, my bomb was noticeably off centerline. Mind you, there is nothing that would put me off from building more of these 109s. In fact I thought about another but, decided on something else.... I added some more weathering today. Some dirt splotching on the underside and, I shot some thinned Vallejo Oil Effects through the AB for an overall oil sheen on the underside aft of the engine. Anywho...All of the final pics were shot outside before I lost the useable daylight. Any and all constructive criticisms are welcome..always. I shot a bit of the Oil Effect aft of the exhaust stacks. Here's the oily sheen I had mentioned. And....the dirt splotching... How in the heck did they see anything forward of them?
