1/35 Scammell Pioneer SV2S IBG Models *complete*

Started a second project besides the HPH T-50. I always wanted to build a wrecker and this new kit triggered my wallet. I now reached the point where I can apply the primer. All major parts are ready. The kit itself is great. The fit is very good, like the details. Some smaller parts had to be added to the engine. But if you don´t want to display it, its good oob.

first enamel layer (good old Revell) in preperation for the hairspray. I never worked with hairspray for later chipping before. So this is going to get interesting.

I hadn't heard much about IBG until this weekend when I won one of their kits in the contest raffle (Chevy 15CT). How's the fit?

I also heard about them until I saw this kit. The fit is very good. The parts hardly have any flash or seamlines. The plastic is a bit hard but thats ok for me (not the soft Italeri stuff).

started with the painting and weathering process. Chipping is not something I do very often. So this is more an experiment for me. On the enamel base (Revell) I had put a layer hair spray and on top acrylic. I waited around 5-6 hours before chipping with a tooth pick. Afterwards I added a oil wash (black/brown). The dark spots should simulated weathered wood mixed with grime and oil stain. I added some sand pigments since this is going to be a South African Army Scammell stationed in Egypt 1944.

I guess the need factor has just gone up a notch with IBG's announcement of the tank transporter companion. 70 year wait for recovery and 2 come at once! I'm interested to see the Thunder offerings. There has been chatter on other forums about alleged cab accuracy problems with this kit.

I like very much the worn wood floor effect.

things are taking shape. The metal effect were done with Mr. Metal Color #Iron.

Update on the recent work I did. Most major parts are touched with paint, oil or pigments. I still have to do the wheels and other smaller add ons. Plus I have a set of chains and cables. The one that is supplied with the kit, is too small in diameter.

Thanks guys. This is really a challenge for me, because I never invested so much time and care into a military vehicle. I am more an airplane modeler. Anyway, regarding those shoulder straps...I will try to add them. I started to glue the major parts together. Well, step by step.
