Well I spent a week or so getting ready for the show yesterday in Dallas North Carolina. The IPMS Region 12 show went really well. This was an extremely emotional time as the theme for the show was "1967 Vietnam, the summer of love and pony cars" There were many Vietnam Veterans there and as a veteran I was honored to be in there presence, to talk to them and share time with them. there were many tears in that room yesterday and I was moved to tears several times myself. I was kept fairly busy at the show helping the local chapter out and did not even get one photo snapped. My brother Ed went from his normal armor and went Star Wars nuts. He had one dio with the British SAS in north Africa and one SAS jeep in soft skins. Needless to say he took 4 first place, Best dio, Best Star Wars, and got the Carrie Fisher award for his AT-ST he had a phenomenal day. Didn't do too bad either. M1A2 Abrams SEP TUSK II took First place in modern armor and won best armor of the show M3A3 Bradley took second place in modern armor I took second and third in foreign armor for my Magach 6b and Merkava Mk VII LIC I was surprised that my tiny 1/48 Kamatsu tractor took third in softskins There were some vendors there not much but got some freaking screaming deals 100 for the F-14 and 20 for the rest, all un-built still in the bags like new. The MH-53 was complete with the Eduard Big Ed set Bob

Congrats on the gongage! I really wanted to go, but when I woke up to leave my body told me it wasn't going to cooperate. Respiratory issues suck!

Thanks bud, hope you feel better soon. Hitting AMPS show June 10 and the local Raleigh club has the show in november, we should try and meet up. How far from Raleigh are you?

I'm right down the road in Fayetteville. I'm planning on going to both of the shows you mentioned. Hopefully, I'll get this breathing issue in check by then.
Overall, about how many models were entered at the regionals? Last year, it was in Charleston, but there was a big show in Atlanta the same day, so turn out was kind of light.

AFV - Ahh Fayetville, i often drive down to hit that awesome hobby shop run by Dave. Turn out was good as this was the first show this group did in 10 years. About 550 models. Went to the amps nats last year and turn out was light. pM me your info so we can connect.
Todd - thanks buddy, much appreciated. I have been trying to get my hands on that chopper for a while now. No where to be found and ebay has them for over 300. You hitting amps in June? I have a 1/350 North Carolina with your name on it.
Wing - thanks buddy

That F14 has to be massive! Nice bid on the elusive chopah! Enjoy it! I wish I was going to make it down. I did send some raffle items through Steve Reid for the show...if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I'm already committed to Wonderfest in Louisville at the beginning of June and off to Omaha in July for the IPMS Nats! My wife hasn't killed me yet, but you know the fine line that we walk sometimes...LOL Keep us informed as to how the show goes! I can see what I can do to make it happen again at some point!
