I just came back from EAGLEQUEST 26 in Dallas Texas a yearly gathering of some of the top modelers in the nation. I thought I would share some images from that show. This will not show all the entries presented, but I think the give you an idea of the quality.....Enjoy!
Armor
Aircraft
Figures
Dioramas
Autos
Sci-fi
Misc.
This is one of my entries. The top vote getter in armor and winner of the Tamiya award.
This contest is sponsored by Squadron and is always the third week of June. If you get a chance I encourage you to come it's a lot of fun. Check it out on the Squadron website.

Very nice pictures, thank you. I did especially like the shark!
It's interesting, when I look at the tank models there seems to be a certain popular US assembly and painting style. Very technical, very clean. Stark oil or enamel washes, lots of dry brushing, pre and post shading, but not so much in the sense of color modulation. Little weathering in terms of mud, dirt and grease. I think it's safe to call it the Verlinden or Shep Paine style!
Totally different from what I'm accustomed to from European modelers.

I suppose that depends on where you are Tobi. Been to some shows where it seems everyone tries to emulate modulation and Black and White techniques. The last big show...AMPS Nationals, there was about 600 models on display...huge variety of painting techniques to be seen. One of the "roll the dice" and hope to see the variety.
