So for those of you that have followed my Panzer III build, (THANK YOU), you know I am in the midst of re-doing the barrel. Now the question I have is...... Is there such a thing as a rifled/groved barrel that I can add to my scratch built barrel. Now the dimensions of my barrel is 5/32 outside diameter. With what I have created, I was wondering if there is some company out there that makes such things as a barrel sleeve, you know a groved insert that I slide into my existing barrel.
Just wondering, MANY THANKS in advance PJ2

T, Excellent info............... After seeing your post, i got to thinking, I have some 1/30th corrugated tin. So I'm gonna try that technique you showed using my tin...UPDATED to follow. PJ2

LOL...Go for it! I was looking at a corrugated tool I have thinking if it would work...the scale was too large though. I wonder if you could take a fine tooth saw blade ( you know the ones I am talking about) and drag it a couple times to score some thin sheet stock and make it happen! I thought of tossing a course file down the tube...if it fit snug enough and just push twist it a couple times. LOL....if you can't tell, I am still waiting to get back onto the cave and try and be productive today!

Actually there is such a thing, but with the advent of metal barrels, they're probably rare.
I have set I bought years ago, forget at the moment, the name of the company that made them. They're made of PE but they only cover the end of the barrel maybe 1/2 an inch or so.
If I can find it, you can have it. I assume you need a 50mm for the Pz III? I have used a few so I'll double check and see if I have them left. They made several sizes on one sprue.
Let me know, Paul

Paul,
Thank you for your very kind offer......... My challenge is that I needed an insert for a 1/25th scale Panzer III Kwk 39 L/60. As you can see from my build log, i have the gun and am VERY happy with it now. What I seek is a rifled insert. My original thought was something like a 1/35th scale 75mm or even 1/48th 90mm. PJ2

A company from before the beginning of time, Om The Mark Models had a p/e sheet of 1/35th rifling. However finding one would be a miracle.
