Hey Fellas! I just rolled in around 6pm last night from the long ride home from the IPMS National Show in Omaha, Nebraska. Rob (Scratchmod) and myself, attended on behalf of Vallejo to do demos. We decided to drive to this one even though it was around 1500 miles. The first leg of the trip, Andy (Deafpanzer) and his lovely wife, invited Rob and I to swing by, have some BBQ and spend the night. This worked out perfect as it split the trip leaving only a 9 hour ride to the venue.
While at Andy's, some other, more local to Andy friends, stopped in to shoot the "poo" and have a few laughs. Having never driven across Iowa into Nebraska, this was an exciting trip for both of us. The show was held in the La Vista Convention center and people, vendors and distributors came in form around the world.
Giving a shout out to some MSC family members we got to see again...John Everett made the trip with several of his amazing dioramas! Dave Youngquist from Last Cavalry was vending...and while he did not come out, we got to have some fun with Andy...as I mentioned above!
The show was pretty large! Larger than I thought it would be for the location....Omaha is about 3 to 4 hours drive from any city remotely close to it....basically rolling hills, corn, corn and more corn with a bunch of wind farms and hidden missile silos...LOL I wanted to share a few photos I took from the trip. I would have had more pics of the models, but the only time we were able to steal away for viewing was the second day in before the venue opened. There was a few hundred more models added over the next two day (that I wish I had seen).
Here we go! First leg of the trip before the show; stopping off at our faithful Deafpanzer's home! Andy let us ogle some of his prize winning builds and he showed us around his amazing collection of military artifacts.
As always, Andy i the life of the party!
A little pool....some steaks...good times!
Andy, Rob and myself heading off the next day to Omaha!
Along the way, we figured we would snap some shots to remember the trip...Just off the beaten path...
Some say it's boring. Me? Not so much. Took tons of pics from the car going 75mph...the camera phone preformed like a trooper!
Some funky art ornamenting one of the bridges entering Omaha.
After settling in...what else is there to do? Track down some friends and partake in some icy cold beverages and catch up. Rob with Alex from Uschi van der Rosten.

La Vista Convention Center
With the table set...let the demos begin!
As I mentioned above, the only chance we had to check out the models was in the morning of the second day. There were still hundreds of entries, but more were yet to arrive. There is honestly no way to get a picture of everything. I started in ships, worked through armor and figs, grabs some wingy stuff and had to get to work...LOL If I catch anything good on Facebook I missed, I'll snag them and post them here later!
I know, it out of order...LOL Still cool just the same!
I told Alex not to touch! (picture is a bit tricky...he didn't actually touch the model!)
I'm going to break this up into a couple posts.........Figs up next!
