Man, has it been a while since I've posted anything. The seasonal business, as usual, puts a mega-damper on any of my forum involvement, and the whole Photobucket fiasco didn't assist my motivation at all either! Still trying to find a permanent home for all of my pics...hoping that these work out here. Started putting this one together last December right before Pearl Harbor Day - got a bit hung up on whether or not I wanted to go OOB or not, and open canopy or not. Lots of hemming and hawing which took about nine months to get over. OOB (with some Eagle Strike decals), closed canopy! What we're starting with:  A little closer up to the relevant cockpit bits:  |

Looking forward to this. Are you going with the box art scheme? I'm not. I like that scheme (a lot), but the kit decals are getting pretty geriatric at this point, and the Eagle Strike set is muuuuuch thinner. IJN overall gray on this one! |

Cockpit is all done up, ready to be sandwiched in between the fuselage halves. Didn't go too overboard here, you'll see why shortly.  |

Got the fuselage halves closed up around the cockpit - seemed like it was going to be a tight squeeze, but it worked nearly perfectly. Visibility is low, as expected, even more so once I get the canopy frames painted!   |

Still hopeful I can have this one completed before COB tomorrow night - i.e., before the September MoM deadline! Got all of the parts prepped for paint. Canopy panes masked off with a set from Montex - HUGE time saver.  Sprayed the interior green first so any IPMS judge with a flashlight would see the right color on the inside.  Then on to the IJN Gray! Did a bunch of alternate colors on the panels, looks a bit washed out here, very hard to see. Will try to get better angles for final pics.  Masked off the nose with Tamiya curve tape:  And then it was time for decaling. Long-OOP Eagle Strike set (2001), but the went down PERFECTLY.  LOTS more tomorrow! |

Eey oop fella..........i been here and there mate , not doin` much at the mo apart from trying to locate the mojo!!, it doesn`t seem to wanna come out and play  !, i been pushing some paint around on the odd occasion but apart from that...nowt!, you seem to be doin` alright and ya certainly still have that special touch when it comes to the wingies fella |

I'd like to see somebody like Hasegawa, or Tamiya do this airframe in 1/32 scale.
