I'm working on this in what little spare time I have lately. First up..... sprue shot's I'm almost positive this kit was manufactured on a Monday...... and the machine operator had a hangover! The kit is covered with "crazing" and I think the plastic wasn't up to temp. because there are a few spots where it appears that it cooled a bit in the mold causing "cold joint's and 1 spot that is almost a crack! That " cresent " around the engine nacille is deeper than the panel line's ! This is what I get for buying the 2015 Re-RE-RE-RE-release. I washed the kit in warm water and dish soap and in an attempt to cover the crazing gave it a slightly heavy primer coat of Flat Black. I then started on the interior with Testor's Interior Green. Also managed to get some of the cockpit painted. The fire extinguisher still need's a touch up. I will be picking out the highlight's with Aluminium and then giving the landing gear a wash of black. I kinda messed up on the gauges so...... I will REPAINT!.... AND THIN NO MORE ! LOL That's what I got so far. Haven't decided if it's going to be a Black paint job , or Olive Drab over Grey. I did decide I'm going to paint my wife on the nose. (She say's if I paint her naked I wont get ANY MORE FOOD! )

Nice start on a poorly molded kit! It wasn't a bad kit when it was first released........ in 1974. Revell has used those mold's up. Had they done ANY maintenance at all to those mold's maybe..... just maybe..... this kit would still be worth building. I built it when it came out in 74 , and it went together fine. I have built this kit 4 times and each re-re-re-re release is just a copy of a copy of a copy. It's ok.......... if all else fail's ......I have a HAMMER beside the workbench!

If you remember such things......... When Academy first burst on the scene in the late 70's early 80's. Their "molds" were simply copies of Tamiya's, Fujimi, Hasegawa or others. In the case of their armor releases, (again speaking circa 1980-ish), they were literally 1/33rd scale. Because the duplication was HORRENDOUS... PJ2

I managed to get some "me" time in the shop today. THE MESS SO FAR.......Got some more paint and a few decal's onto the interior..... Got a few touch-up's to do on that last panel.... always with the touch-up's. Got the wheel's assembled and "rough" sanded. got to remember to flat-spot them. RE- did the Instrument panel... OH Yeah..... had some help for a few minute's..... At some point today I miss-placed the Instrument panel....... I looked here..... I looked there..... I chased the cat thinking she nabbed it..... couldn't find it anywhere. About 20 minutes later I felt something stuck on my elbow...... YEP ! ... You guessed it ! As I progress through this "crummy" kit I keep finding thing's that shouldn't be. I'm sorry this picture isn't so great, but. Who in their right mind put's a sprue gate right in the detail of a mesh vent? Now I have to cut them out and make my own..... ON ALL 4 VENT'S !!!!! AAARRRGGG !!!!!!!

Your progress looks right on point. as to the sprue gates, mystery dips; "all" you have to do is "Whomp" ( a very technical term used here in the West) on them and turn them into--- Battle Damage! See? simples- problem solved. Well time for me nap
