So, some of my AMPS Vt friends are doing something called a "Turkey Shoot" where we complete a kit in 4 days. My choice? Tamiyas Merkava......... Let the paint flow brotha'! LOCAL being the relative term! I actually passed my LHS to go to Spare time... but mecca awaited LOL. I needed the break anyway and since the 40% off sale ended today I had to do it... thank god he was in there cause I would have literally flipped my lid if they had indeed been closed LOL... An hour and a half drive with that little munchkin gabbin all the way (did the same thing on the way home too).

Merkava: A face only a mother could love. I think I still have two of them in the stash, wondering what to do with them now the the Takom kits are out. More "what-ifs" probably. Yours is looking good, enjoy the weathering.

Nicely done. That old Tamiya kit is really one of their better efforts, given it's age. One point for your consideration: On the first Merk 1s, the big exhaust grill on the right side was for engine cooling air only. You do have the two small engine exhaust ports sooted up nicely, but with those two outlets present, that indicates a relatively early production tank with separate engine exhausts. Later -1s and all subsequent Merks ran ALL the exhaust and engine and trans cooling discharge air out the one big grill on the right. Small thing, I doubt anyone would notice.

I used some reference photos from a couple books I bought and didnt notice early/late, just that the soot was prominent in that area. Ill have to look some more and maybe change it up a little or dust it down
