Hey guy, Been a while since I could sit down and actually show you what I've been up to. I recently completed the 1/72 scale DML Tiger I with Zim. Nice little kit. There are a couple rough spots and there are a few places where I assumed the instructions were wrong... but they were not.... so I made things a bit harder on myself than I probably needed to. As always, I am happy to hear your thoughts. Thanks! The kit is pretty well molded, with quite a bit of photoetch. The one thing that kind of struck me was that the turret bin had no bottom. Easy fix though: The kit has markings for four vehicles. I chose vehicle 311, from 3/s Pz. Abt 505 in Nowe Koszary in 1944. I won't lie, I didn't research the vehicle a ton. I picked it for two reasons. One, I didn't really want to tackle a complex camo on a 1/72 build and, two, I really like the yellow collar on the gun, and the knight on the side of the turret. There was a decal for the yellow, but I opted to paint it, since I figured I'd bugger up the decal: At nationals in Danbury last year, I got a Tigerworks base that I decided to put this on: I also wanted to try to build a "box base" for this. I got the idea from a video someone shared (can't recall where) on Youtube of a guy who cuts up his boxes and uses them to build a display for his builds. So, I cut the box bottom to the dimensions of the Tigerworks base, then I chopped up the box a bit to give it a "display plate": So the "final" result:

Need to build 80 kits per year until I'm 100 to deplete my stash. Maybe I should sell a couple.

Finally getting a chance to look at this. Love that base! Got a few questions I'll have to ask you there. What were the instruction pitfalls?

Finally getting a chance to look at this. Love that base! Got a few questions I'll have to ask you there. What were the instruction pitfalls? The major one is how to install the tracks. The instructions have them going on the wrong side. That said, I also think the tracks are molded wrong - so I think the instructions may actually be correct, but the tracks themselves are wrong, which forces you to mount them on opposite sides tgan the instructions indicate.
