Awesome. Been wondering how this kit looks. Found the pics on the internet of this tank and almost did a conversion....of course it gets released as a kit lol. Looking forward to seeing what you do with her Tony.

OMG, Tony goes back to no turrets! Stop the presses! Seriously, your spares box will get a major injection of parts. I can't wait to see progress on this one.

Rob I almost converted the old Alan PzII 15cm sig 33 to one of these,I even started but changed my mind. Then Dragon released their PzII so I was thinking sooner or later DML would do this one, took them long enough. They're calling for rain Friday,Saturday and Sunday so I might get a start on it sooner than I thought. They only built one but it did see action before being destroyed. Tony lee

Andy I was about to go through withdrawal or the DT's without my SPGs. Well maybe not that bad but I was happy as double pecker billy goat when I heard about its release. Uncle Tony

Looking forward to seeing what you do with her Tony. LOL! Exactly my thinking. Luckily I didn't start yet, but now I have already a Pz.III, and a Bison II more bum around in my stash. Who needs stock at the financial market if he can have crude oil pressed into plastic sprues in his basement as a pension fund? I want this kit!

Tony lee Tony that is usually how it works. I gave up about 10-14 years ago. I think the last think I did was the Pz IV bridgelayer. Got her built, took a year, and painted...then it was released in resin conversion kit and then plastic. Of course that was back in the day when it was DML imperial series just coming out.

Started Lower hull and running gear: I had to drill out the torsion bar holes on one side just a little so the bar collars would fit flush with the hull. There are several "A"&"B" sprues so you'll have to sort through them to find the correct part numbers called for. Tony lee

Saw some more pics of the kit now and I don't agree with Dragon's undercarriage construction. Also you can see in the original picture the axles stubs of the sIG were still in place when they lifted the gun into the fighting compartment. My suspicion is they were part of the fixation. We don't know how it really looked like, but the kit design isn't convincing at all from an engineer's point of view. The floor isn't strong enough to cope with the recoil unless you remove the tread plate over the torsion bars and go directly down to the bottom. If I had to do it I had welded some cross beams from one hull side to the other and bolt the undercarriage to it.

Update Upper Hull: The only items you get for the interior is a lousy seat and two driving levers Tony lee

Yes, that is typical Dragon strategy as of today. Kitbash existing sprues together, do the most necessary minimum of new parts and take 80 bucks for it...
As I absolutely want this kit in my collection, I will bite my teeth and possibly pay, knowing I can most likely also purchase it 9-10 months later for a third of the original price at a bargain sale... we'll see.

Doing a great job! I'm glad this doesn't make my 'buy now' finger twitch - I'll stick to the fully-goodied-up DML kits in my stash, occasionally adding one of the old-style kits when I come across them. They used to be top dog, but those days are over as far as I'm concerned. Too expensive, too stripped down, and sometimes lacking in quality.

Update Gun: I had to cut a section out of one of these bars for the firewall to go all the way down, the box on the firewall hits one of them. Tony lee

Update Tracks and Trim: The tracks are a bit tight and a tiny bit narrow for the sprockets. After installing the tools fill the holes on the interior side for a cleaner look. Later Guys Tony lee

Very cool build of a "one off" subject. To tell the truth I wasn't even aware of the vehicle until now. Looking forward to seeing it completed
