Hi all As well as doing the Paper Panzer I thought I'd also give this one ago. This was also a gift from Sean aka Vindicareassassin as he had a spare one. It's gaming quick build kit and I wasn't planning to build it but then I thought it would make another good test bed for my AB attempts. If I'm honest it's not the best QB I've seen (sorry Sean.... ) the wheels in particular are a bit indistinct. Some more pics of the sprue can be found here henk.fox3000.com/pegasus.htm then search for '7627'. I've added a bit of stowage and tracks from the Plastic Soldier Company and then my daughter has added some tissue paper tarpaulin on the back. It is her modelling specialty and so is the go to person in our house when I want some doing. I forgot to take some pre-primer pics.....doh, so below is from primer to base coat. Even if I do say so myself I think the pre-shading has worked much better than the Paper Panzer and is even a bit more obvious in the 'plastic'. But I'll let you be the judges. ACW ATB Andrew PS - The hull top is only dry fitted to the base - and yes it is a warped too.......

Hi all So yet more AB practice, this time I went for 'patches'. Again, as this is not a particularly good kit, I used it for some experimentation and chose a different brown to see how that worked. The Paper Panzer used a brown with a reddish tint, whereas this is more of a 'brown' brown if you see what I mean. On the whole it went ok but if you look closely you can see where I got a bit too close. It also took a few attempts to get the paint mix right. All comments welcome as usual. ATB Andrew

Good to see you stretching your legs and skills Andrew! These QB projects are perfect for that sort of thing.

Looks good fella, practice on a not so good kit is a great idea. I use Tamiya paints and mix the colour so it looks right and in scale to me. Paint thinning is 3 parts thinner, 1.5 parts colour and 1 part Tamiya X-22 clear. The clear slows the drying time and allows the paint to flatten before it dries. To see the effect look at my Martlet post. Air pressure is 20psi. I use 5ml syringes to help measure small batches of mixed paint needed for 1/72

Thanks for stopping by. It's been fun having a go with an AB, albeit the process has not always been entirely smooth. As QB kits go, this is one of the worst I've seen but hopefully I can make it look vaguely presentable by time I've finished.
Hope the new school term is going well so far.

Thanks for stopping by.
As you will have gathered I've only recently acquired an AB compressor and booth, so this was perfect to have a go at before taking on one of our better quality kits. I actually 'dual build' most of the kits with my 10 year old son for small scale war game battles, very occasionally my daughter even has a go!!
I'll go back and have a proper look at the Martlet as I've only seen in on my phone so far.
Thanks again.

Thanks very much.

Nice job sir braille scale's tough to do that in Regards, Mark Mark Thanks for the compliment. As I said above i was reasonably pleased with how it turned out considering it was first go. At the moment I'm still using the cheap Chinese AB that came with the compressor but the needle is not quite fine enough for this scale. I have plans to get a better quality one soon but want to make sure I have the basics sorted out before putting something expensive at risk. Thanks again. Andrew

OK chaps so this one has taken six years to finish.....and got the same treatment as my Armourfast Panther. Again, this is a super simple quick build wargaming kit - just 30 pieces. It was actually a free gift from our old member Sean aka vindicareassassin and was a perfect test bed for me to try out my then new airbrushing skills.....but for some reason never got around to finishing it! The only 'upgrades' were some AM stowage and tracks on the turret. I 'hid' the damaged number on the turret decal by adding some heavy duty chipping. I didn't spend a lot of time on finishing it off, given how simple it is and what it will be used for! Anyway enough waffle.....final pics below. I won't do a competed thread as it doesn't really warrant it. ATB Andrew

A great looking small scale build Andrew. You're not the only one in the extended completion time boat brutha.......I've got a couple I need to finish myself.

In the grand scheme of things it's nothing special but it's more about what it represents in one my first AB attempts, and one that turned out ok considering my skill levels at the time! Thanks as always for for the support!! Andrew
