I made a decision not to blog any future builds for my own reasons. I will continue to post them in my gallery.

Well I hope all is good,I know that sometimes posting progress shots put more pressure on me,so I wouldnt do it with some of my builds.

I can't believe someone is being that nasty to cause this action! Blog away and let the troublemakers be damned!

As a current non-builder I'm not in a position to make a comment on anyone's choices, but IF I do get round to glueing some bits together I suspect I may not post until I've finished whatever it is. Otherwise it would be a bit like tempting fate: I have an amazing amount of stuff that's part way done, the oldest of which that MIGHT see completion has been hanging around for over forty years (Bandai 1/48th Matilda II)! I can relate to Tojo72's comment about posting progress shots, I can stress out thinking of what to have for a meal to the extent of choosing just to miss it! I'd hate to start a series of threads which all concluded with the project interfacing with an adjacent vertical hard surface...* Although I appreciate completed builds are supposed to be posted on a gallery, I'm wondering if a single post on completion that included "in progress" shots and a brief explanation of the build, any problems encountered, and other information that might be of use to members of MSC might be acceptable on the relevant groups as this might be a more appropriate place to handle any resulting questions? (That might work even if the final shot was of the item in whatever waste receptacle it was eventually consigned to...)
Regards,
M
*I wonder if anyone has taken an appropriate subject (e.g. Airfix 1:48th Buccaneer), sawed the front off it and mounted it on the wall of the man cave as if it was embedded in it?

M- Why never complete a model? I find it astounding you have one setting unfinished for forty years.

A long and complicated story which I don't propose to bore you with. Short version: I've had a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder which was only diagnosed a couple of years ago accompanied by proliferating mental health issues over the last couple of decades. Basically, I'm a bit but otherwise mostly harmless...
The other thing is I'm a hoarder and have lived in my house since before I started school, that's over sixty years; there's probably stuff around that dates back to when I graduated potty training (maybe even the pot itself...). So all the stuff which normally gets binned when people move has tended to accumulate. Given that I understand the majority of scale model kits sold never even get started there's bound to be a few shelf queens (well, more than a few). Perhaps it's my circumstances that are more unusual than myself...
Another problem is I've always had a patchy memory and it's getting worse. That's how I got diagnosed, my works supervisors were worried about my declining job performance and referred me to company medical in case there was a health issue which might cause complications if they simply gave me the boot for being useless. The chief quack decided I was weird beyond his understanding and referred me to a specialist to check if I was coming down early onset dementia. Apparently I wasn't but I never saw the full report as it was commissioned by the company. However it was sufficiently devastating for me to be allowed ill-health retirement; unfortunately I was past my "sell-by" date and so did not accrue the additional benefits which people retiring under those circumstances usually would.
Enough bitching, I said I wouldn't bore you. The memory thing simply means I'd forgotten about the Matilda until something reminded me about it a few weeks ago. Actually I was conducting a archaeological excavation in the spare room for some wargaming stuff a friend had been searching for but was long OOP and now rare as hen's teeth: naturally, I had it in the stash. While I was at it I found a box containing a small 25mm scale army for the De Bellis Antiquitatis/Hordes of the Things rule system: the thing is while when I saw them I recognised the figures as some I had purchased many years ago but I had no recall whatsoever of preparing, painting and basing them, nor of their existence as a completed project. Strange...
Also it's not as if I've never completed anything ever, there's about a dozen class win trophies scattered around the house so some of it can't have been that bad. However, I can't remember what won what and the last is dated 1999 (I had to go look and check) which is around the time I ceased being an active participant in the hobby. Or, hopefully, my participation just went on hold...
Regards,
M
