KV-5 again

It's been a year since I finished the Takom KV-5. I'm taking another crack at this beast by building the Trumpeter release. So far the Trumpeter kit has been an easy build. The details are better and molding crisper compared to the Takom kit.

I'm tempted to get the voyager PE fender set (which is designed for the Takom release) as I just don't have any luck making damage in plastic fenders look convincing.

I'm thinking of building this as a BeutePanzer. Here it is fitted with a PzIII cupola.

I'm leaning towards this combination. Pz Gray copula with RAL 8020 quickly applied over the 4B0 base. Large and extra large markings.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Trumpy versus Takom - if I'm ever in the market for a 'paper tank' my money will be heading Trumpeter's way.
My personal favourites are schemes 1 and 4.

Keep in mind, the Takom KV-5 was one of their first kit releases and they have progressed a lot since then. There are some details Trumpeter omitted from their kit like the roof top bolts but overall its a better kit.

Construction is complete, just needs a good coat of primer and then clean up. Was detailed with parts from the spares and a few items I recently picked up at swap meets.

Paint has been applied. Making progress but no chance this will be finished by the end of the year.

The smaller markings are airbrushed thru Alliance Model Works stencils. The larger crosses are sprayed thru hand cut frisket. The 14 is a spare decal from a 38(t).
