Right then, me 1, shelf...well let's not go there. I'm told the Blitz kits were introduced by Takom as simplified models that could be done in a weekend to compete with Tamiya and their legendary swift, well fitting offerings. I suppose if you did not leave the bench for 48 hours it could be done but this model stretched out to a week long build due to bad fit, most everything needed drill and file work before the parts could go where they were supposed to. Mind, now, this did turn out to be an acceptable model but getting it there was more involved than I'd have guessed when I first opened the box. Anyway here's the little beastie Gotta clean and organize the work room before I start anything else it's a wretched mess

I may have to tackle one of these Takom armor builds if they are that simplified. I've got a Suyata 1/48 Panzer and that thing is SCARY!!!!
Great job on this one Mark. Turned out very well buddy!!!

Thanks gents
Joe they are not, at least this one was not
CD 'tis a sad truth. As said before and in other places they are well molded but take more time and effort. They are great for file practice however

Do yourself a favor and find a Tamiya kit, it'll save you much pain if it's gonna be your first armor kit. Make it something with molds manufactured 1990 to present as they fit like a dream. I'd recommend their Panzer III L #35215 or their Cromwell Mk IV #36221 off the top of my head as both are relatively inexpensive and a breeze to build (I've built them both).
A word of warning however, you do one of these and you'll never look at AMT the same way again

I've already put together a Tammy 262 and a 190 D-9 and know all too well about how well they go together. Just wished they would start turning out some classic muscle cars. lol

As I was looking at your model it dawned on me that thing is HEAVY, well in appearances anyway. Your tracks tracks ( say What?) really show off that effect well. Oh, and the model is nothing to sneeze at eather, Good job all around.

Thanks gents
PD yes tanks tend to be heavy and to reflect this I've lately been using air dry clay for where I want track and tire impressions. Once dry I just blend it in with garden dirt.
The great thing about the clay is it's soft for about 20 minutes post application, very easy to make impressions with the model itself and your model will not stick to it.

Nice one. Haven't seen one finished before.
I bought four or five when they came out, due to their low price and for conversion purposes.
