So the battle of the shelf continues to rage, and I'm nudging this one closer to completion Scrounged a base together Decided to preshade the figures for laughs, it'll be interesting to see if it makes any difference Some additional goodies The Fruil tracks did not fit the Dragon drive sprockets very well and I got too much slack on the left side. Since I don't feel like backtracking this one that far I'm gonna live with it

Looking forward to seeing how this one's gonna turn out Mark. Too bad about the Fruil tracks not fitting onto the drive sprockets the way you wanted. I've got faith in your abilities to make things work out though.

Just now getting over this season's version of the flu so have not done any bench in the last week. Either the flu bugs are getting meaner or I'm getting old, it really knocked the piss out of me this time

Either the flu bugs are getting meaner or I'm getting old, it really knocked the piss out of me this time I'm a bit late on this, but ya, I had that crap a few weeks back, then my wife got it. I call it Fauci Flu #2. And no, it ain't normal. Upper chest and clogged sinuses, but I used a common homeopathic that most people freak out on hearing, Chlorine Dioxide. My crap disappeared by day 10. Hope yaz feelin better.

Right then Did not die from Fauci Flu II, hauling PC is over, 4-6 weeks before start of hauling ash so I GOTS TIME First off, what a Remington 700 trigger looks like Current state of things Stone wall finished I I'm experimenting with airbrushing figures. There will be some hairstick work done, just gotta figure out what Base texture begins. I'll leave larger rocks out of this one just for laughs. What you see here is sifted fine garden dirt over a white glue and water mix When this mix dries I'll add finer stuff (blue gerbil dust) in places, plant the wall, add vegitation, and start the paint process

Super nice build! …love the paint work. I’m about to get back into airbrushing, after a long hiatus, and I’d only had minimal time learning it’s use (Iwata Eclipse), but the first thing I noticed on your build was the beautiful paint work. Do you shoot at 20 psi? (…God, I hope I remembered that right! NEWB ALERT-NEWB ALERT!).
The figures look like they’re comin’ along fine… what on earth are they propped on and how are they staying up there?

Thank you sir
I try to stay in the 15-30 psi range depending on what kind of paint I'm using. I mostly use an old single action Passche airbrush; I never did get used to a double. This model was done up with Tammy acrylics which I thinned around 40% with Tammy thinner, then added Tammy paint retarder at perhaps 25% of the total volume. It was shot on at 25 psi.
The reason for the rather complex mix is the dry air here in Montana, where the humidity in my work room averages 24%. If I don't thin and add retarder the paint will start drying on the needle within 30 seconds and that don't get me nowhere. So, it's several thin wet coats that get the job done.
I have the krauts on toothpicks stuck into a scrap piece of the foam board that I use for bases these days, I find this very handy.

This weekend's efforts saw the model and the base finished and now there's nought but to grind out the figures. Not my favorite; I gotta work on thinking up vignettes that don't require so many of them

I dig it! you couldn't really make out the waffle zim in the 1st photos. A dio is on my short list of things to do soon. I need to stop being either lazy or intimidated I suppose.
Also, rather than the trigger, I'm more interested in the glass you may have on said firearm. Funny because my buddy and I used to shoot our old crappy models with one of these from some distance. Downfall is one shot pretty much disintegrates the target.

Thanks gents Dave the glass is a Vortex Viper 4-16x50 with a 30mm tube. It's calibrated for MRAD rather than MOA which I don't care for but I'll live with it given the image quality.
