Tamiya 1/48 A6M5 Zero dead

Dodgy, there is no rushing involved in the making of this kit,lol! I think there is actually a post in here from me saying I wanted to build this quicker then my other projects.

Anyway, updates...




If you've seen my Riesen Panzer thread, you know I knocked the landing gears off a couple of days ago. I cleaned the ends and added a pin...




And, because I was having a bad day, I figured I'd go ahead and drill through the top.of the wing making the hole for the pin inside the bay. I've already fixed it, I just have to paint the repair.




I had to fix this crack in the canopy. I took the part off a while ago to reset it. When I placed it back on I put to much pressure on it and it cracked. Not a huge deal. It's just that small part and didn't go in to the clear areas.






Also getting to the small parts. I will be brush painting all of these.

There will be more updates in a few hours. I'm motivated to get this done, I see the light at the end of the tunnel and there's not much left. Also my next aircraft project is here and I don't want to have to planes going at the same time

I also do know I need to paint those 2 areas under the nose to match the cowl color. I've just been waiting until I got to the paint onbthe cowl flaps.

Oh no! What happened? Some parts worth saving there for sure.

I was trying to get the landing gear to line up, I noticed one was long then the other so I tried to push it in and see if I needed to clean out the area. The landing gear snapped, I wasn't holding it tightly and...


Crash

This thing was cursed from the beginning! I'm honestly glad it's done. There are parts I can salvage, the cockpit looks pretty unscathed. The engine is fine.

On to the next one....

!! OMG!!! Man I am so sorry mz!! You've definitely had your hands full with this build from the "get go" and now this.......




I'm looking forward to seeing your recovery efforts with the salvageable parts in a new airframe brother. Your efforts have been nothing short of stellar since you started it.
