1/48 Eduard Bf-109 E3

Hi y'all,

So, like most of you I haven't been around here in any real capacity since, what? 2014? Anyway, as a test to see if I can remember how to post stuff and to show a little of the work I've done over the past several years I'll start with this one. It is actually an Overtrees kit so it didn't have masks, decals, PE or instructions. But it was also $20. It is pretty much straight from the box. Painted with MRP. Markings are painted and the stencils are from HGW. I really have mixed emotions about them as when they work, they are brilliant. Problem is, that isn't always the case...

Anyway - this was meant to be a kinda-probably-was aircraft from JG26. It is also a tribute to my shepherd that passed away in 2021 at 14.5.

Yeah, gotta fix that wheel. And the canopy work isn't exactly stellar.

Those who know me know that I'm a BIG 109 and 190 fan and dude......you frickin' NAILED this one!! Despite your issues with the wheel and the canopy, this turned out VERY well. The paint & weathering are just all that!!

Hey Tojo, no doubt. Thanks for the comment. We got 2 shepherd puppies over the summer/fall, so we'll be set for awhile again.

Thanks, Joe. No worries, he lived a very long and happy life. A little shaky at the end, but that's how it is.

Thanks for the encouragement as well. If you like 109s and 190s, then I'll be treating you in the near future. I have a 1/32 Fw-190A8 and 1/32 Fw-190D9 to post very soon (they are completed) now that I have this seemingly figured out. They tend to be my favorites as well.

Your warbirds are first class! I can’t wait to see what else you do.

The markings on this one look spot on, as does the paint and the rest of the plane.

Thanks. Yeah, we miss him. But we also have our hands full with 2 new puppies.
