Ok, so as promised, here is the D9. Again pretty much straight from the box. HGW belts and stencils. I did rivet this bad boy. So that was an experience. It adds a lot to the otherwise plain, flat panels though (except panel lines). I wasn't sure how to paint this bird... There just aren't a lot of photos from this stage in the war and many were destroyed or relegated to the scrap heap before any pictures were taken. I wanted to do something a little different and I know JG26 was switching over in the fall of '44, so I just made a probably-was aircraft. The work number is made up but there probably existed a Blue 4 in the 2nd Gruppe. I'm pretty sure I used AK Real Colors RLM76 (Version 2) RLM75 and RLM80. Markings are painted. Light weathering using some oils and pigments. Unlike the A8 I fixed the instrument cowling as it should be. Not sure why Hasegawa made a gap where the gun sight sits, but it was easy enough to correct.
Hmm, I thought I had more pics of this plane than I do, so unfortunately a lot seem the same to me. When I take some more I'll upload a few.
Blue 4 II/JG26
Let me know what you think, and thanks for looking.

If it's one thing that I like is an Fw190 D-9 and what I like even better is a well-built & portrayed D-9. And this sir is a well built and portrayed D-9. To me, this will always remain the hotrod of the air. Fast, hard hitting power and just an all-around beautiful and aggressive looking aircraft as well as a formidable opponent in the air with excellent roll and maneuverable characteristics. What you've done with this bird is a thing of art as those late war Luftwaffe camo schemes are NOT easy to pull off and then weather. As you mentioned, late war Luftwaffe subjects are left to the imagination in some areas due to the lack of reference material. Masterfully done work on this Dave.
