I've visited the USS Blueback in Portland OR a few times. I like the few diesel electric boats built with the teardrop hulls. There is no kit of a Barbel class boat available (that I know of) so I decided to try and kitbash it from a USS Skipjack. The Monogram 1/230 Skipjack scales out very close to a 1/200 Blueback, both are based on the USS Albacore test hull. I needed to modify the sail, upper hull, forward hull, and tail planes. Overall I'm happy with the results, not perfect but very close.     |

Great work, did you build this for you or someone else? I've been a sub fan ever since I played Red Storm Rising by Micropose back in the early 90's.
Amazing platforms.

I've never built a sub before but would like to build one all opened up. I'd say you did a rather good job on this one with the kit bashing and decal sourcing.
