Hello all. So I picked up a 1/35 Italeri Elefant kit at my LHS for a few bucks. Also grabed me a 1/48 JP kit from Tamiya at the same time. The elefant is a vintage kit, and I found a rew. over at armorama pointing out a few flaws. I'm not much of a scratch builder, returning to m building after a long time, so I will se how much I do of it. Anybody with some knowledge on Elefant care to share a tip ore two ? With the JP I'm thinking I want to maybe dress it up a bitt, try out some PE parts. Anybody care to share where I get the best deals ore where 'you' pick up you're aftermarked stuff and maybe also som hint's about tools to use when working in this scale.(on PE parts that is) Thanks for looking By maxmekker at 2012-06-08 By maxmekker at 2012-06-08

hi mate, I've done a DML Elefant and one thing which is a must on this kit is zimmerit! Also, both headlights have to be removed, this was a Ferdinand feature. Have never seen that the tracklinks were added the sides of the hull, as well as the track cable on the casemate side....Other than that I think she looks pretty Elefantish ;D I have a blog on my Elefant on site as well, but I started the build ages ago and a full blog can be found here: www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=40292Concerning AM stuff for your JP: I'm a big fan of Voyager Models, their kits are great and have a good price, though I'm not too sure wether they also do 1:48 kits. I usually find them on e-bay from Chinese sellers, much cheaper! Hope it helped a bit Cheers
