Airfix 1/48 scale North American P-51D Mustang

Have to say these newer Airfix kits are really fun to build. The instructions are clear, the parts well made, and the fit really good. Here’s how it turned out…

MAN.......that did turn out well. I've heard and seen alot of good things about these newer Airfix kits. I'm wondering how these kits stack up to the Tamiya  offerings in the same scale.

I don’t build many aircraft so I can’t really say hid it compares to Tamiya. I will say though this was a fun build.

Thanks Chrome. I think on this kit it took about 3 good solid 8-9 hour days to finish this one.

That is one sharp Mustang. Very nicely done. I have to agree that the new Airfix kits are quite nice. Maybe a little heavy on some panel lines but, not a deal breaker. Thank You for sharing.

What a sharp looking Mustang you have there, the painting is flawless and I like how you darkened the panel lines, nice weathering touches.

Thanks. I did the panel lines with Tamiya black panel accent.
