Yep painting the lines is a big improvement. Do you have any pics of the deck to go off of for weathering? I know early on you had limited info it sounded like. Yes, thanks, I have found some pictures in internet, let me know if you have any other sources to suggest

That PE looks like some job. Nice progress so far. I have good memories of the Kuznetsov... Microprose F-14 Fleet Defender, 1994: My Wingman and me were on CAP with VF-41, West of the Norwegian coast, when he was shot down out of nowhere. There were two good chutes and six SU-27 looking for trouble. A quick call for the "Ready-5" and next I found myself in one of the most intense fur-balls I ever experienced in a computer game. I managed to down four of the enemy jets, one was caught by the support and the last managed to escape. Turned out a Russian carrier group had launched an all-out attack on the Nimitz. We hauled a$$ back to the carrier to intercept incoming anti-ship missiles, with no ordnance left on my aircraft except for the guns. The Nimitz took heavy damage, but under billowing clouds of black smoke she was still there. A Strike Group then in return went out and sank the Kuznetsov. It was a good day.
Now that is a sequence I'd love to see! Sweet!
Stunning work on this ship! I built a 1/700 scale Kuznetsov, but I used the decals for the deck. Brilliant work on the masking for the lines. I have to do the same for my 1/600 scale USS Enterprise since they did not include decals for any of the deck lines.
That Snowberry looks cool; I'm trying to find a 1/72 scale one that I can afford....

Now that is a sequence I'd love to see! Sweet! Duke, I loved playing that game in my teenage years. Microprose sim's were complex but great joy once you got through the handbook. Also top graphics back then, my school mates and me even used to say "it's a Fleet Defender sky today", when we were witnessing wonderful sunrises or sunsets with colorful clouds. Looking at the game 30 years later it's hard not to suffer from immediate eye-cancer however, LOL! If someone would give it a makeover and a modern look, I'd buy it again.

I can only second that. Clean job painting the deck markings, Rod, lifts the thing to another level!

Man that looks busy and you don't even have the aircraft, equipment or other goodies on it yet. What's the next steps involved on the carrier deck to make it look realistic Rod? [/quote] At the moment I'm still planning the various weathering stages, I still don't have a clear idea of how to make the flight deck 'realistic' ...

Beautiful PE work!
You are a master at working with PE, I'm impressed.
A couple of questions and a request: Are you soldering or gluing PE together? What is your adhesive of choice for attaching PE to plastic?
It would be really cool if you could offer a few tips on how you work with PE, it would be great for our members who aren't as skilled at it as you are.

Very nice work. These Russian vessels really have a large paint pallet. I am surprised this kit doesn't come with the sea going tug that is always required when this ship is deployed just in case it breaks down.
