Looks like you've got everything prepped up very well from what I can see Dennis. I'm no armor builder so I'm learning from folks like yourself. In 1/48 scale I'm sure those barrels are teeny in comparison to the 1/35 scale builds that I see going on. I have a couple of 1/48 scale armor subjects that I'm looking forward to digging out so I'll be referring back to you guys for tips and tricks along the way. Thanks for sharing this as well as posting bro.

Looking good! I didn't even know there is a 1/48 version of this tank from Tamiya.

Thank everyone for the kind words. This kit came out way back in 2011 and from what I can remember it went together in true Tamiya fashion, quick and painless. Very well done sir, I notice you managed to stay away from the blue tone +10 I too am not a fan of the blue toned panzer grey. Not sure where that came from. For a while there it was getting close to using Luftwaffe RLM76 I like varying my panzer greys from dark to light on different projects for variety. I went with light on this one because it is so tiny.

Just for a quick size comparison with a 1/35 scale kit. Granted the Centurion is a large vehicle.

Your paint job is looking great! Are you going to do any weathering? Yes, this will be weathered. I am going to do it mostly with acrylic paint and pencils. Sounds dangerous I know, but I have been experimenting with the AK 3rd gen paints and I think I can pull it off. I have lots of browns and Grey's and I like having more color options . Here is my quick test on the bottom

I have one side of the tracks weathered up. Deviated a bit from my plan. I was going to use my AK weathering pencils ,(water colors) but, ths kit is so small the pencils are just too big. I made a dust layer out of AK 3rd gen acrylics and spread it very thin over everything. Basically a filter. Then used various darker earth tones, also acrylic, to add variation. Then did a dark enamel pin wash to bring out the details as they got pretty muted by the previous steps. Then added some AMMO enamel earth effects. I wanted to just do acrylics, but the model told me otherwise.

The methods you're using (and explaining very well at that) are bringing the best out in this build. I'm learning a ton about weathering through armor builds like this. Just beautiful work Dennis and thank you for the step-by-step info.

Perfection. I would not have even guessed it was 1/48 if you hadn't said it.

I was told that to get more likes online you need to show a nice rear end. Just got the AMMO washable dust paint and tried it out. I really like it and will be getting the rest of the colors. When they say it is washable, that does not mean it will wash off. It is pretty durable and requires some elbow grease to remove it. I ended up using oils to add more weathering since it didn't clash with the water based dust paint. I did use a neutral grey AK pencil to add some grey back. The washable paint really stains the base color. You can see some at the top of the bottom hatch
