Good evening, Thanks for the comments and encouragement. Parts now mounted, washed and primed. Have to say that the primer has enhanced the detail so a quick peek - Onwards and upwards. Hope to make a start this weekend and will keep you up to date. As an aside, does anyone else thing that his face looks a little like that of someone from MASH ? Tim

Alberto,
Know what you mean about red being a challenge, but in this case he is a Rifleman and therfore has a green tunic.
Jon,
Not sure of the origins of this one, but if it is a re-run of something, then all I can say is thanks, cos I like it !

ChrisB & Boots, Thanks for the comments, and yes, I am quite pleased with the green it's GW Catachan Green as a base, with Chaos Black for lows and AV Light Flesh for high. Mix ratios? who knows I just do it Spud, Acrylic - as no doubt the above indicated. DickyF, In general I do work bottom to out. However you need to think ahead. For example the cord for the powder horn sits on the black cross belt. So for that, I painted and defined it first then cut the black up to it. One more shot, which I forgot last night, the side view and collar. Again this shows a little trick for the white lace on the collar. As I based in white I painted the black freehand cutting the line closer until I hade the lace without having to lay white over black or green. More later. Tim

Good evening, Nemo, Thanks for the info regarding Wolf. Mark has another bust of a "Crapaud" which I suspect is from the same source and which is next on my list. Might even save some postage as he is a short spit from mine! Spud, TRM & Multicam, Again, thanks for the comments, secret of a steady hand - red wine to relax and enjoy ;D Started on the hair and face. Both only base coated at present. Hair will be blonde despite what you see, the face, I have gone bold for me, as I want a darker more tanned look. So lets see if I can ferk it up Cap'n. More later, Tim

Good evening, Paul, T, Spud, Chris.s & Gary, Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Oh and Spud, decided to pass on the blonde hair after your suggestion. DickyF, Sad to say I got a little carried away when painting the face - no SBS I am affraid. I am not entirely happy with how it has turned out and photos of it confuse the hell out of me! Here are three pics all taken at same stage but under different lighting conditions. One natural, one diffused light and the other under a halogen desklamp. So, there you have it. Three different results, will do some more on this later but one thing is for sure, I will not start again - just learn from the process. Tim

Good evening, Thanks for the interest \ comments. Begining to reach the end, so little details begining to be picked out, like water canteen belt and shoulder straps for the back pack. Tried to give them a slightly worn look. Also started on blanket roll and back pack. Put it together for a quick look. So this is as things stand right now... More soon. Tim
