Always wanted to have a small collection of modern US bombers but space was an issue. No longer, however, with the outstanding Academy 1/144 scale series A/C. Very well detailed with fit to rival Tamiya. Built and primed Black Alcad undercoat, acrylic Undercoat on 2 coats of Alcad Polished Aluminum Done. A/C decals are still a bit difficult for me, but these are from Cartograph and they come with the kit. Interestingly enough, the canopy frames have decals and they were not nearly as difficult to apply as I'd thought I had alot of fun doing this one; a very pleasant kit all around. Ha looks like I'm a plank owner here

Your usage of Alclad turned out a great result on this one Mark. I've never seen decals used as canopy framing either and that makes this one stand out well. I've seen canopies painted in this scale and it's one of those things that'll make a build roll off the table if it's not done just "so-so" but these cals made that a cinch looks like.

Very nice, Mark. I built the B version a few years ago and had fun. Working on the Hasegawa 1/72 kit now, not quite as much fun.

Thank you gents I'd recommend one of these for anyone, they are that good
J I came very close to getting one of the Hasegawa kits but opted this one instead. I did wonder how one of those would build up

It's an older kit, like the Neptune. Good shapes and pretty good fit but not as well detailed as more modern kits. Pavla makes a nice resin cockpit set and vac canopy, which help a lot, and also engine fronts and backs that having used them this time I would not again because of poor fit and little improvement over the kit parts they replace. The 1/72 kit will be a good companion to my Monogram B-36.

With an accompanying fighter for a sense of scale it would look even better. I had a lot of 1/144 models in my youth. They were affordable, quick builds and a good play toy.

That looks like an Rb-47 for sure. Well done. I have the older 1/72 Hasa kit somewhere in my stash. Hope to get as clean a build as yours.

They're pretty big in 1/72, hence my plan to go smaller. J I don't seem to have it in me these days to take on large, long projects lately but one day I might get cocky again. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks to all, also for the nice comments
