I am visiting the grandkids whose father is stationed at fort Benning. The US Armor and Cavalry collection is also located here and had their 75 anniversary open house yesterday which was AWESOME, I will post some pictures when I get home. Yesterday the army held a live fire of Strykers, Bradley’s and Abrams at one of the ranges. Took the grandkids to it. WOW!!!! The back blast from an Abrams firing is crazy. Me and the grands  The Abrams came onto the range firing on the move at targets that were somewhere from 1 to 2 KM away, none missed. The chain guns from the Bradley’s were so accurate they were stacking impacts on top of each other. |

That is frickin' EPIC!!! What an experience for all of you guys together. That's gonna give those kids something to talk about for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!! Good on you grandpa!!!

I remember when Aberdeen proving grounds had live firing on their open house. It was awesome.

Way to cool Grandpa!! There is nothing like being on (behind..LOL) the firing line. The Kids will never forget this field trip for sure.

Ah man! It’s been ages since I’ve seen armor live fire… such an awesome spectacle… even better at night with all the tracers in the dark! 😈
That range in the top photo looks vaguely familiar from when I went thru Benning for OSUT long ago. I’d have to check my old photos to confirm, but it looks to be the same range as where we did TOW & Dragon live fire.
