This was also a very nice kit to work with, good detail and excellent fit. The model was finished in Gunship Grey...I tried using Mission Models paint first but it came out a horrible blotchy mess despite multiple coats. Therefore, the Tammy Dark Sea Grey came out, which I darkened a shade or two with Tammy Flat Black. An overall glosscoat was applied, decals, and then the whole thing was washed with Flory's black wash (Thank you, Robbo). Once dry a very thinned down acrylic flatcoat was applied and that was it. The base is a chunk of 1/2" foam painted black.
This was, as said, another excellent offering by Academy, a company that has upped its game several orders of magnitude in the past few years
