I finished this on in June of 2017, after cutting the first plastic in 2012. I made it harder by lowering the wing on the fuselage, the kit has it too high. If you want to see all the bloody details here's the build log:

I built one of these as a kid and it was the largest aircraft model that I'd ever put together. It definitely didn't have this good of a finish to it but hey......it was a fun build. Beautiful work on this beast of a plane John. I see that it takes up most of the top shelf on that display case too and that's in 1/72 scale. WOW!!
Say.....isn't that a Me 323 Gigant on the bottom shelf?? That aint no small aircraft either!! Would love to see that in a thread as well buddy.

Gorgeous B-36 John. Really stunning finish and your wing surgery appears to have worked out splendidly.
Every time I see one of these Monogram B-36's it takes me back to when I was a senior in high school and some friends and I ventured to Salt Lake City for the IPMS Nats 1980. This is when the Monogram B-36 was introduced to much fanfare. At that time is was an epic kit to be released. Also got to listen to Chuck Yeager speak.

Thanks, everyone. It is one of my favorite builds though that was not so several times during the build. Someday when I lose my mind I have a vacform conversion for the XC-99 based on the Monogram kit.

Kudos on your B-36 build. Nicest I've seen.
Cheers, C.

Thanks, you are all very kind.
The Goblin is an MPM kit, and the RF-84K is an Italeri RF-84F kit with modified tailplanes. As a lad I once saw a GRB-36H fly over with the Thunderflash underneath. Travis was nearby so B-36's were pretty common overhead. Once I was getting a spanking from my mother (what could I have possibly done to deserve that?) and I heard one coming. So, of course I got away and ran outside to look at it. My 100% German mother neither understood, nor was she pleased, but it made sense to me. I could get a spanking anytime!

That's very nice! I don't think I'd have the room for something that big.

That's very nice! I don't think I'd have the room for something that big. Mine was hanging in my bedroom. Of course this was the mid 80's
