The Spit has got it's tail fin end done and started on the wings, there are a lot of pages of the wing construction so you'll have to bear with me

Someone asked me what the wing span was on this. As you can see one cutting mat it is measuring nearly 17 inches and it's still got to have the wing tip added

OK fellas that took a bit longer than expected as it was, paint a bit leave it to dry, paint a bit leave it to dry and so on Anyway got the weapons in place and added the wing to the fuselage, now you get an idea of the size of this build, still got the engine to go on the front end

This is looking GREAT Ian!! There's a TON of sparing and details in those wings. A LOT more than what was in my 1/24 Trumpeter 109. WOW!!

Coming on beautifully. Very well done indeed so far.
The thought of attempting something this big would scare the *&%&*%)£" out of me!
Well done.

Overall fit and finish looks good. I’ve heard this kit is pretty well engineered. Much like their Typhoon. Any major issues stand out thus far? I’m crossing my fingers and toes in hopes they will release a 1/24 Fw190!

That's some great work, Robbo! I'm at the point in my build where I'm trying to figure out how many of the bits you'll actually see...and if I have to include them all if you don't.

Thanks fellas
No major issues in fact, no minor issues either, this is going together really well
Dupes, are you building one too? If it has a chance of being seen I'm going to show it off as best as I can

Looks great so far. It must be hard to decide the point of which to stop adding detail in a kit this scale. My head would explode.....

Hey Robbo! I am so glad I didn't miss your 'BIG' party! I really love those Spitfires now because I built a 1/48 Spitfire recently as part of my local club group build recently and it made me realize how sexy those Spits can be! LOL I look forward to see more of this... you definitely have my attention!

Hey thank you very much for following, you are all such great modellers
This Airfix 1/24 kit is the best Airfix have done so far but the Kotare 1/32 is supposed to be the holy grail of spitfires for about the same price
