WIP Thread: Semovente M42 da 75/18

This is the Italeri 1/35 scale kit. Here is day 1 progress….






It will be a couple of weeks before I can post another update as I do most of my model building on weekends and we are galavanting today and will be leaving for vacation next weekend.

Oh heck yeah!! This is looking good so far and this is at Day 1?? Wow, I'd be at Day 30 at that point.

So far, so good. There was a bit of trimming needed on a couple of parts, mostly just little bits of leftover plastic from the molding. 

we’re home from galavanting so I’m going to get back to it. The next step is the tracks. It has the rubberish wrap-around tracks, which I’m not a big fan of because they tend to make them too short and you have no natural track sag.

I hope the camo turns out well. On the box cover it has camo on the lower hull. But the version I’ve chosen only has camo on the upper hull. It’s the same pattern though. I’ve never done this pattern so I hope it turns out ok.

Thanks to vacation, it’s been a while since I could post an update. I had some time today so I made some good progress. I still have some outer work to do like the mufflers and some other parts. But I was able to do the base camouflage today.

That's one heckuva camo scheme bud. I'm with Mike.....I like where this one is headed. I know the feeling of being away all too well as I have to take what are sometimes too long of a break from modeling (one week is too long BTW) Looking forward to more.

Thinking about that camouflage gives me anxiety but you really pulled it off in spectacular fashion!

Thanks a guys. I was hesitant to even try this pattern. It still looks rough and I have some work to do on it still. I should be able to spend most of today working on it though. I’ll post an update tonight.

The camo schemes in real life, were not that smooth

That's an outstanding job on the camo,I built the Tamiya version,but not with that scheme !!!
