Chaps. Tail booms assembled, last chance to add weight in the engine nacelles before closing it up. And then attach them. Fit is very good considering the fairly complex shape of the mating surfaces. Cheers. Lookin' good......REAL good!!! Thank you, fast approaching the part I least enjoy, paint.

Looking great! I haven't built any of ICM kits but I have been thinking about getting B-26 Invader and Ju-88 kits so how did you like this kit so far?

That is a fine fit for that kit. Kudos to ICM for pulling that off. Your work so far appears to be excellent. I know that you will nail the paint Mence despite your trepidations.

Thanks all, sadly my kit was missing the canopy masks so I have ordered some to enable me to paint (make horrendous mess).

Masks arrived. All done but have to admit my sausage fingers have made a bit of a mess of the canopy assembling. No matter how hard I tried it didn't come out well, I don't believe it's a fault of the kit, pretty sure it's me. Anyway, image attached and trust me, this is about as close as you would want to view it.

I've had some pretty bad looking masking in the past only to have it turn out better than expected. Looking very much forward to the results Mence.

Well, long story short, priming showed up my poor fitting of the canopy parts. In my attempt to correct things I cracked the canopy roof and then dropped the whole wingy on the floor. It can be sorted but suffice to say my enthusiasm for continuing has ended, at least for now. I will try to sort but it has become one of only two shelf queens.
406 Silverado....PMd you.

Too bad, that is a setback.

Too bad, that is a setback. Proof that model building doesn't always go to plan, especially when it comes to me!

I struggle with any larger multi piece canopies such as this so I feel your pain! About 4 years I spent hours and hours doing the one for my Ardo and eventually got it right. A few weeks ago I moved it to take pictures to post here. Last week when I turned the air conditioner on for the first time I was sitting watching tv and all of a sudden there was this POP noise. Looked over at the shelf and the whole canopy had just flown to pieces simply sitting there in the cold air flow. Now I either have to spend a few more hours fixing it or resign it to the shelf of doom.

Sorry that there was a mishap and it happens to everybody nowadays. I am more impressed that you only have two shelf queens cause I think I have about 8-10 shelf queens now.

Thanks all.
I don't like shelf queens but I risk killing my modelling enjoyment if I pick this one back up right now.
I don't have much of a stash but maybe I can find something to do that's a little more suited to my limited abilities.

Oh No! Gawd, I am so sorry to hear this. I totally understand how deflating that can be. You have done such beautiful work so far and I do hope you can find the desire to revisit your Bronco. Do not be hard on yourself my friend. When you do return to it just remember, it's not about the mishap, it's all about the recovery. You will come back strong. I know it.
