Went to Stuttgart in 2019, had to visit the Porsche museum.  It was well worth the visit, it was the 50th anniversary of the 917 so it had a great display. Gmund 356  356 roadster  Beetle  Tractor  Got to love a 550!   The most beautiful car ever made. 904   917!       A modern "interpretation"  Boxster prototype  The only 914/8 in the world!  Carrara GT:  919  These were the highlights. |

That 919 Evo is one impressive ride. A 2.0 four cylinder turbo'd out to give over 1100 hp??!! Now THAT'S frickin' NUTS right there. In reading a cleaned-up version of the placard and doing a little research it obliterated track records set at the Nordschleife track.

That 919 Evo is one impressive ride. A 2.0 four cylinder turbo'd out to give over 1100 hp??!! Now THAT'S frickin' NUTS right there. In reading a cleaned-up version of the placard and doing a little research it obliterated track records set at the Nordschleife track. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us Mark. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. We actually visited the Nurburgring on the trip. I went around it with a professional driver in an AMG GT in the pouring rain. One of the best 9min 57 sec of my life!   |

I wanted to drive it myself but seeing all the flatbeds driving out with wrecked cars, and the rental contract on our Golf expressly forbidding it, there was no chance of that. I also wanted to experience it at speed, I got that! 270KPH at one point.
Years ago I did the Indy car experience, The fastest I got up to was the low 100's on a banked oval. We were supposed to get 3 laps, but they called us in after 2. I was not happy.
