Hello friends. I am building a 1/16 Panzer I that comes with a nice commander figure. The molding on this guy appears to be quite good but he does come in many pieces. A lot of filling and sanding are ahead of me I’m sure! More to follow.

Just couldn't take it any more. Looking forward to this Chad. Its funny in my 45 years of building. I've never taken a long break, A year off here and there. I've never built an armor vehicle. Couple of ships when I was younger, not my thing. I've probably built 500 planes and over a 100 cars. Sadly the BB gun took out all my old stuff

I'll be following with great interest Chad as I have a growing collection of 16th stuff. Just for ref in case you didn't know 120mm is very near to 1/16th scale. I have been checking my options to populate my vehicles.

Looks like most of the assembly is done (and rather cleanly at that) and now we're off to the painting stages. Looking great so far Chad. Looking forward to the "How-to" tutorial here brother.

Agree with the guys here... you did good job attaching the pieces together as I couldn't see where they were attached.

Shame on me for missing this one, sorry Chad. Great start, fig does look pretty decent, well sculpted and molded. Thank you Steve. I am really trying to find every excuse in the book to not sit down at the bench and work on this one. Figures are the one aspect of modeling that makes my gut turn in knots! 😄 Quick question regarding eyes. Should I paint the eyes after I’ve completely detailed the face? Or, would it be better/easier to paint the eyes right now, while I don’t have to have such a steady hand, then go over the top and bottom of the eye area with flesh colors to frame and define eyes? Basically, painting large white circles and pupils that go beyond the boundaries of the eyes; then working back with flesh colors until the eye looks right?

I usually paint the eyes before I paint the rest on the face because sometimes you have to redo the eyes few times if it wasn't done correctly so it can be a messy job if you have remove previous bad eye painting attempts.

Good luck! I don't use white paint per expert figure painters stated... I usually use off white or lightest skin tone depending on the character. In the pic below I used off white which is much softer. Hope it helps...

Yes, I agree with DP, I always paint the eyes first, get the painful part over with, lol. There are quite a few great SBS vid on YT, but I prefer the oil artist Daria Callie. If your using acrylics I can't really advise, but oils I can. Painting figures is like riding a bike, just more practice, lol.
