Monogram Mig-15

I completed this one probably about 15 or so years ago. It’s the old mid 70’s vintage Monogram kit, with some Aeromaster decals for a Soviet Night Fighter Ace in the Korean War. I used my old Badger 350 siphon feed external mix airbrush to do the painting with Model Master & Humbrol Enamels.

I'm still trying to figure out just how in the world you pulled that paint job off with a Badger 350. I use mine for area coverage.....not fine painting like you did here. I never would've even imagined that AB would've worked out this well for a paint job like that.

I still use mine for auto color and gloss coats and there aint no WAY that I could pull THAT off with it.

Well I eventually damaged the medium tip that came with my Badger 350, so I bought a new one. The new one just happened to be a fine tip. And by dialing down the pressure and proper thinning of the paint, I was able to pull off the scheme. Base coat is Model Master Tan Special, and the green is Model Master Russian Armor Green. Black bottom is Humbrol Satin Black. The only masking was the usual places such as wheel wells, intake, canopy, etc. 

And John, I’ll see your Saber with one of my own 😉

Pure eye candy here. Those models do look exceptional and the early jets are slick.
