Fun to compare to Mopar's new mold version with not a rivet to be seen!

This does INDEED look good Tony. I like the stowed blades and the details inside. I know that this is an older build but do you have any interior shots of this one prior to buttoning it all up? Both of these builds are well derserving of all the kudos they can get but it's crazy about the difference in exterior skin detailing.

Both of these builds are well derserving of all the kudos they can get but it's crazy about the difference in exterior skin detailing. Nope no interior pictures. That was way before I started doing build logs since I didn't know how deep I would get back into the hobby and never dreamed of posting on forums. It is really just some seats and greeblies that look like "stuff" when you take a casual glance through the open doors. This was the model where I first came across the idea for using tinted Future as a weathering agent and panel line enhancer completely by accident. I was brushing on pure Future and accidently grabbed a dirty brush. When the future softened the black acrylic in the brush I ended up with dark areas around the rivets. At first I panicked but then when it self leveled and just highlighted the area I liked the effect. Experimented with different tints dissolved in the Future and finally settled on cheap water paints from the dollar store. As you know I now use it on just about every model I build.

Another beautiful giant canary whirlybird! The SAR colors sure are eye catching, and build looks excellent.

Nice work on a long in the tooth kit.

Nice work on a long in the tooth kit. I am sort of a fan of these old kits. Sure they may not be as accurate as newer molds and sometimes are basic beyond all reason (like a pilot sitting on a peg in the "cockpit") but I really enjoy trying to make them look decent with just paint and weathering. As long as you are not trying to model a specific aircraft at a precise point in time then the often ambiguous detail (or lack there of) rally doesn't mean much if it at least looks the part.

I haven't built a whirly thing in many many years. Very cool way for you to get back into it again with a "familiar" type kit to build like we did in the way back. Great Job!

Very nice. I've always liked the Sea King I poured many gallons of fuel in them back in the day. Got a few rides as well though.
