Skif 1/35 T-64BV

This is next in the sequential series of Postwar Soviet T-series tanks, the T-64. The T-64 was something of the boogeyman to NATO, never being exported to any Soviet client states, introducing the autoloader 125mm main gun and three man crew, and only serving in their best tank units. This is the final Cold War version from the late 1980s, the T-64BV. This particular variant had the ability to fire a laser guided missile thru the main gun tube in addition to standard conventional munitions, and was fitted the Kontakt 1 series of Explosive Reactive Armor bricks to counter the then widely deployed NATO anti tank guided missiles. I have heard gripes about Skif kits, but personally I had zero problems with this build. Built OOB, and painted with Model Master & Gunze paints

    I have a collection of unstarted  Soviet T series in my stash, gonna have to make sure I have a 64. Obvious precourser to the T- 72. Nice track Stik.

Thank you sir! I kind of wish that I had not built this one until last year, as I would have preferred to see it in Ukrainian digital camo. These kits have shot up in price compared to when I bought this one 20 years ago. I still need to find their T-64B kit for a reasonable price. 🤞🏼
