The last of the Soviet era T-series tanks, the T-80. Originally taking the later series T-64B armament and fire control, using a new gas turbine power plant and running gear, the T-80 was neither T-64, nor T-72. It was also slated for top priority Soviet tank units, not exported during the Soviet era, nor produced outside of the Soviet Union. Another of DML/Dragon’s early Soviet AFV releases, it suffered the same shortcomings as the others in dimensions and details. This kit did have some problems with the upper track runs, but due to the side skirts, leaving them off was an easy fix. Otherwise built OOB and painted using AEF Designs paints for a late Cold War multi color scheme worn by some Soviet tank units.
