Some may know me from the MCM site, some may know me from other Diecast forums from a few years back.
Like most of the older modelers, I was a car modeler until about the age of 15 and abandoned the hobby for girls and real cars. 25 years into my current marriage and I picked up collecting diecast cars and trucks.
Not only was I a collector, I got involved in the manufacturing aspect of the diecast hobby doing some side work with companies like ERTL, GMP, Lanes Automotive and ICONS Inc.
I was also involved in the media side of the diecast hobby where I had a standing column in the "Toy Cars and Models" Magazine and later in the mismanaged "The Car Room Magazine" where I review some of the higher end 1/24th scale diecast from companies like Danbury Mint.
After I stopped writing, I came back to my roots building and customizing 1/25th and 1/24th scale model cars with an emphasis on custom cars.
it's a slow process that is gaining traction now that I have retired after 45 years in I.T.
Some of my more recent builds are below...please enjoy!

First off, welcome to MSC and thank you for responding to the invite Brian. Secondly, I had NO idea you were involved in writing for magazines as well as involved with the die cast manufacturers. That is frickin AWESOME!!! Just WOW! Lastly, what a great looking batch of models that you’ve posted here. What an intro!!! I can’t wait for you to get settled in and share that Camaro wagon as well as future projects with us. Again, welcome aboard potna. You’re among friends here.

Welcome aboard BD. Those are some very good looking cars. Personally I love that old Chevy most 😉 The Old Chevy is what I call my "NOVACAM". Basically, a 69 Nova with the side panels of a 69 Camaro...note the side gills in front of the rear wheel wells.
Here's a couple more pics of it...
it's kinda hard to see but I did open the grill on it. 4 hours worth of sanding to the point of what is remaining being paper thin...

For some reason I totally missed the side vents/ gills. NICELY done!!!

Heck...since I'm on a roll, here are a few more of the GTX also. I stuffed a Viper engine in it, removed the Kit exhaust from the rear end and hand formed the exhaust from plastic tube with beading wire stuffed into it. The beading wire keeps the plastic tube from kinking when bending it. Lowered the front suspension by about 2 scaled inches. The Driveshaft was installed after I took this pic. I opened the grill (both upper and lower) and hand made the headlamp buckets

Thanks! I always appreciate the feedback be it good or bad! It's always good to hear someone say that. There are folks out there who are pretty touchy to feedback unless it's all good. I'm of the opinion that constructive feedback is always good for growth. There are also jerks out there who don't know how to give constructive feedback and that's a shame. Will be looking forward to seeing more of your work here and if you get the chance, put the word out there that the auto section here could use some more members. We'd love to see close to equal activity across all genres.

Welcome aboard. I've seen Camaro quarters put on a 1:1 Nova before and read about how things had to be resized to make it all work. It looks really good when done. Love the Novacam, and the rest. Super cool.

Super cool. The inspiration for the NOVACAM was Joe Rogan's car that was build by Steve Strope's crew at Pure Vision Design...

Congrats on your retirement! And welcome aboard! That Ford Crown is definitely my favorite probably because of its colors. I hope to see more of your builds here too!
