Well here it is IMG_3990 by Russel Baer, on Flickr The packs outside the basket were already there. Other side: IMG_3989 by Russel Baer, on Flickr This model was built a while ago and I plan on building another more accurate example soon, so I didn't mind trying something new that might not have come out well at all.

That added a really good effect to that build Russ. Thanks for sharing that as it's very well done.

You going to the Nats by chance? I will be dropping in in the afternoon a couple of times at least, not sure if or what I will enter. This current model is a possibility, as are a couple more, but while the others I'm considering have been through an AMPS judging process and rated Advanced Silver, neither have rated at all in IPMS, so I dunno, short answer. But I HAVE to cruise the vendors' tables. Carlos, the finished pics are a different model, to illustrate the use of pre-colored epoxy putty. The current one got primed yesterday evening.

I'm putting the finishing touches on it tonight, thinking I will enter it at Nationals. Unless I chicken out.

It's on the table, I'll post finished pics later I was up past midnight Tuesday putting the finishing touches on it, so I'm sure I missed something... After looking at the other models displayed as of last night, I should have brought a couple more.

Well, after a few very late night sessions at the bench, I got it far enough along to bring to Nats. I don't think it did anything (I had to split early Saturday) but here it is as it was displayed: IMG_3998 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_3995 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_3997 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_3996 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_3994 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_3991 by Russel Baer, on Flickr I want to add a fig in the loader's hatch and an air recognition panel, maybe look it over again for details, but it's pretty much done. It's obvious where my engine grills are different from the kit's, and thinking back on it, I should have made all of them instead of just the forward ones. Next time.

That is a nice build Russ, it is much better in person than through pictures.
Adding a few more details might make it a winner, regardless it's one to be proud of.

It looks really good! I'm curious to see photos of what else was there at Nats this year. I can only imagine the level of completion from the more "local folks" who were ready for the contest in 2020 before it was canceled, didn't go to Vegas or Omaha, and waited until now, plus additional builds that they did between then and now.

I heard something like 2600 models. I felt like Gomer Pyle walking into an opera.
