Hello everyone, Hope your weekend was as good as mine? I attended one of my most favorite model contests (every year). It is held by the North Olympic Peninsula Modeling Society, at Fort Warden State Park, located in Port Townsend, Washington, USA. Here is the link to my photos: s573.photobucket.com/albums/ss175/shawngehling/Port%20Townsend%202012%20contest/ But soon you will be able to see way more of them on their site: www.nopms.net Sorry I don't have more pictures, but I was tied up with judging the Aircraft categories with a bunch of great judges and that really cut into my photo taking. Ok the large amount of time I spent in the vendors room didn't help either. And of course I had to pick up a bunch of Raffle winners too. I had a bunch (we are still trying to figure the exact number out but it's close to 23) winning raffle tickets. I had 14 winners in the first two rounds. Then while I was judging one of my buddies picked up the rest of the winners. Of course I gave a bunch away to members of our club and a few away to friends that weren't as lucky as I was. Hey we've got to spread the wealth around a little don't we? Thanks to all the guys/gals that I saw or met for the first time too. I did manage to do pretty well too. I got four 1st place ribbons, one 2nd place ribbon and four 3rd place ribbons. Not bad for a fun day with models and friends. One of our members also won the grand prize raffle (a picture of General Longstreet from the US Civil War). Since he's from the South and the General was from the South, you can imagine how happy he was? Congrats Bill. Enjoy. Shawn

Thanks T, Milticam I always seem to do pretty good at the raffles (I don't know what the total raffle wins for our group was this year, because I didn't get to Fridays meeting and won't make it next week either) Life sometimes gets in the way. But there were five of us and we usually clean up pretty good. As I said, I only kept 6 and pass the others along to people that wanted one on the tables. Then I had the guys pass some along to the juniors and other modelers that didn't seem to be winning as much. I spent $60.00 on raffles and the 1st kit I won was a $60.00 kit, so everything after that was gravy. Rob I don't know what the Trophy case is, but thanks, make sure Ed's tiny (reads huge) dio gets put in there too, better have some space for that beast. Dicky Thanks, again sorry I didn't get more photos, but I was really busy judging the aircraft. (Reads Targets for AA stuff). There were some sweet cars too that I didn't get any photos of. Ed, It was great meeting you. Drop me an E-mail. Loved that tiny little dio that you brought... Hope the hernia operation goes well. LOL For all of you (that would be the huge dio that is in the photobucket file)... Thanks again everyone, glad you like them. Shawn
