Airfix has only released this as a set once, so far as I know. Individual kits have been sold since, but not as a set. It is the new Hurricane and all of the pieces built up easily. The Jeep is Hasegawa, not part of the Airfix set, but how can you not have a Jeep? I struggled with the figures but that's just how it works for me .

Looking good John. Very nice work on the figures! I really wanted to get one of those sets, but never had the spare money when they were available. As far as the jeep goes, I do t think that they started arriving with the Brits until 1941. But it does look like a natural fit.

Great set. Ready-made diorama there. Nice work on all. I did GZV on my 1/48 Hasegawa kit.

Andy, the 1/48 Airfix Hurricane is a great kit, go out and get one. One of the current kits is A05129. Here's a link to my build log.

Those newer Airfix molds rock! The figures are great other than the repeated face (there are at least two sets of triplets there). Out of context some of the poses look more like they are doing an airfield version of Swan Lake that prepping an aircraft. Can you imagine the reaction from a modern ground crew if you told them they had to wear a wool jacket, starched collared shirt and a tie while prepping an aircraft?

Awesome! Believe it or not I don't own one Airfix kit so I wasn't sure. Almost all of my wings kits are from either Eduard or Tamiya. I built a Spitfire recently and I told myself that I must build Hurricane too. Thanks guys!

Anything molded post 2015 will be as nice as any other high end kit on the market or in some cases even better but half the price. Anything molded before that will likely have a lawn chair and broom stick in a void for a cockpit and pie plate size scale rivets. They still sell some of their old mold kits in new packaging so you have to make very sure you know what you are getting.

Their original 1/48 kits weren’t that bad. The Me-109F, Spitfire V, Hurricane I, Ju-87B, and Mosquito FB VI, all had decent cockpits comparable to what was being put out by everybody else at the same time. Proper seats, sidewall detail, flooring, control sticks, IPs resembling the proper configurations, etc. etc. Now their older 1/72 stuff on the other hand…

Very cool John. Really well done. The addition of the Jeep is excellent and appropriate. Great job on the figures.

Very cool John. Really well done. The addition of the Jeep is excellent and appropriate. Great job on the figures. READ IN NERD VOICEActually the inclusion of the Jeep (as mentioned by Stick) would be inaccurate for the time depicted by the Hurricane and uniforms of the figures. They are CLEARLY intended to be from the Battle of Briton period which predates development and production of the Jeep. Now... of course it could be said that it could be later, say 1942 or so but then the few remaining MK1's were no longer in front line service and the uniforms would have lost the full jacket for the "Battle Dress" short version. Even then I am not sure where a British fighter squadron would steal a Jeep since there would not likely be many Americans on the base and I don't think they gave their equipment away so quickly by that point anyway. What they would have there is:

Yeah, I have that one. Was too lazy to build it for the picture, and I agree the Jeep is not appropriate for the time period. At least I didn't put this in the picture!

Nice set and good job on the figures. Pretty tough getting detail in at 1/48. I have one of the new Hurricanes and want to pair it with the Tamiya MK1 I built.
