You are being a great grandpa... that's what it counts!!! They look great and well built! Now are you going to add a layer of zimmerit next? Maybe paint ambush camo pattern too?

Those horses are pretty dang cool Steve. Your grandkids won't forget those for a long time. Jeez.....I can't remember the last time I saw a rocking horse. Most kids would be watching them on their iphones instead of riding them these days.

Those look great! I think a little photoetch and some weld beads will make those really pop !

Thanks, Gents! Now, if I were to do any Zimmerit, camo, rivets, PE, or even weld bead, I'd fast be sharing the deck with the dogs, HA! Na, all great suggestions, but these little tikes are not even ready for snap-tites yet, lol. I'll post final pics for the heck of it.

That is awesome! They are only little once and it goes quick! Our oldest Grandchild is a teenager now but when he was very small I put a little "motorhead influence" into him. Here he is with his Corvette next to mine. And a couple years back when he graduated to a go-cart ripping up around my garage

And a couple years back when he graduated to a go-cart ripping up around my garage Now that's the way to get em going. Only problem, horses usually get dumped once the girls figure out boys, go figure, lol. Lol, MG42 sounds appropriate, lol. The ponies are finally done. Thanks, Gents.

Thanks, Leon!!!
Andy, since we're all armor or fig guys, there was no reason to neglect the camo pattern, regardless of what color, HA! Aah, the girls won't know till we're all long gone, but they'll enjoy them for now, and that's all that matters. Oh, BTW, Tank, my grandson, he's gonna be a Buckin Bronco on that Chesnut, no doubt, yup!

Thanks, Guys.
Joe, we'll have to imagine these are just like the Soviet armor rolling out of the factory and straight into the fight, new paint job and all, lol.

Very well done indeed!!

Better late than never, yes. Short update, the sub deck is being worked, finalizing the mount, slowly getting back in the "saddle again", HA!

2nd Lieutenant I enjoyed my break from the bunker, but now it’s time to get moving on these last three figures. Back at the bench I was able to start work on the 2nd Lieutenant and get the face in order, but not completed. The first photo is a light shadow setting to start the process. After working the flesh tones in the same manner as the prior faces I applied the base tones for the uniform. Things are starting to move along much faster now. Deck photos will be posted soon. I have pretty much completed everything that needs to be done on it, so I am happy with that. Feel free to comment, more to follow soon. Cheers, Ski.

Steve, what size brush do you use on these and what paint brand/colors do you use for the faces?

I Love the prep and color work you're doing here Steve. Tanks, Joe! Steve, what size brush do you use on these and what paint brand/colors do you use for the faces? Hey, Brian. Oils are mostly Windor and Newton, numerous sizes on the brushes. It's a mish-mash of brushes I've accumulated over the years.
